Ghirardelli Square

This National Register property is significant for its history as a 19th-Century factory and as a 20th-Century retail historical adaptation. Most of the historically significant buildings are undergoing a mandatory seismic upgrade, and the owners are simultaneously rehabilitating the upper floors for hospitality use. Our office is handling consulting with the owners and designers on compliance with planning code requirements tied to the property’s local landmark status. We also consulted with the owner about core-drilling the brick of the historic buildings for the seismic upgrade.
